Alaska - Back to Denali

Hi all I hope you and those close to you are well and life is good. I am doing great. Today I drove from Homer back to Denali.  It was a good drive from Homer. My desire to get an early start paid off. I had no traffic to delay me. I had a scare when I looked in my sideview mirror and there was a trooper. It was such a surprise. I had no idea where it came from and for how long it was following me. I was going through a mental check list. What might I have done wrong. I was so happy when there was a passing lane and he went around, Whew!! I felt like I made good time but it took four and a half hours to get to Anchorage. Almost to Anchorage on the Seward Highway, there was an accident that involved a 5th wheel. It looked like it suffered major damage to the rear. I stopped in Anchorage to fill up and I was on my way. It was slow going through as I hit every light.LOL  It was slow going through Wasilla as well. Once I was able to get open road it was easy. Did hit construction. I was first in line waiting for the pilot car. I took advantage to go to the bathroom. I didn’t have to stop again til Cantwell. I wanted to fill up again not wanting to risk running out of gas. It wasn’t that much farther to where I would be for the next 5 night. Once the camper was setup, it was off to eat. I getting ready to leave and saw there was a football game on. I watched it for a bit. I then came back to the camper and tired so I went to sleep. I probably should have started for home but I am not feeling like going home. Not yet. I have 5 nights to get ready to go home. I might make another stop before leaving Alaska though. I am thinking about returning to Valdez and another day around Prince William Sound. Well that is all for now…Take care…Peace.
